PANORAMA'S TAYNTON BOWL
OPENS TO DEEP POWDER!
December, 2001, Invermere, B.C. - Panorama Mountain
Village is excited to announce that its largest terrain
expansion ever, Taynton Bowl, is now fully open!
"Conditions in the bowl are great," states Brad
Brush, Director of Mountain Operations, "with a very
good snow pack, deep powder and lots of fresh tracks still
available, Taynton Bowl is an experience skiers don't want
to miss!"
Formerly exclusive heli-skiing terrain operated by RK Heli-Ski,
Taynton Bowl is now lift-accessed backcountry style skiing
incorporated into Panorama's official boundary. To the
delight of extreme ski enthusiasts the expansion added
over 700 acres, increasing the mountain's patrolled
acreage to 2,847 and making it one of Canada's largest ski
resorts. Through a combination of high elevation and
northeast exposure, Taynton Bowl is a natural snow
collection area receiving ample snow coverage throughout
the season.
Accessed off the Summit lift, Taynton Bowl offers skiers
and riders wide-open and naturally gladed
backcountry-style terrain. The bowl's main chutes travel
over a landscape of sparsely vegetated ridges and valleys
and drop almost 2,000 vertical to the new Taynton Trail
for a quick turn around back to the Village. The majority
of Taynton's terrain is rated black and double black
diamond, for expert skiers and riders.
