HILTON MYSTIC’S
VACATION STATION
PACKS A LOT OF FUN
INTO MYSTIC
MYSTIC, Conn. -- Families who plan a vacation trip
to visit Mystic Aquarium and Mystic Seaport this year can
have even more fun together by staying at Hilton Mystic,
which offers Vacation Station, a specially designed
package of family services and gifts.
This summer, Hilton Mystic will stimulate children’s
creativity by giving each child a free Vacation Station
backpack and a disposable camera. Children can keep the
camera and other gear handy in the backpack during visits
with their parents to Mystic’s fun and educational
attractions.
"A disposable camera is a great way to introduce a
child to the joys of photography," said David Labbe,
the hotel’s director of sales and marketing. "We
wanted to stimulate kids’ creativity and come up with an
interactive process that lets kids show us what they like
best about Mystic."
Hilton Mystic is inviting children to use their cameras
to photograph their favorite sights in the Mystic area
this summer. After they return home and have the photos
developed, they can select a favorite shot and enter it
via e-mail into a special Hilton Mystic contest. The best
photo of the summer wins a return trip for four to Hilton
Mystic and a digital camera.
Hilton Mystic’s Vacation Station program includes
many of the standard features of the corporate Hilton
Hotels program, including Family Fun Kit with information
about local attractions, and the Hilton Vacation Station
Lending Desk, where parents and children can check out
popular name brand toys, games and books.
During
summer vacation and at other peak family travel times,
Hilton Mystic also adds "Teddy Turndown," a
costumed character who visits guest rooms to tuck in young
children at bedtime; free dinner for children dining in
The Mooring restaurant with their parents; dinner-hour
entertainment in the lobby by a clown, magician or
face-painter; and scheduled children’s movies.
The hotel also has an indoor pool, video games, and an
outdoor playscape.
Hilton Mystic, the only full-service hotel in Mystic,
Conn., is located at Exit 90 from Interstate 95. The hotel
is across from Mystic Aquarium and Olde Mystic Village;
adjacent to the Mystic Factory Outlets; and around the
corner from Mystic Seaport Museum. It is within a short
drive of historic Downtown Mystic, the Denison-Pequotsepos
Nature Center; the Mashantucket Pequot Museum &
Research Center in Ledyard; the U.S.S. Nautilus Museum in
Groton and the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London.
