Imagine upscale camping in the unspoiled scenic beauty of the Island of Molokai.  Picture a tent on an elevated platform, with a comfortable bed, hot running water, and a private lanai offering ocean views.  Couple that with mountain biking, ocean kayaking, horseback riding, cultural hiking, and a host of other outdoor activities, and that describes the experience at Kaupoa Beach at Molokai Ranch & Lodge.

At Kaupoa Beach guests design their own travel adventures.  They stay in one-of-a-kind upscale tents that provide a true outdoors experience with all the comforts of home.  Each canvas bungalow features a queen size bed, self-composting toilet, solar-powered lights and hot-water showers.

To oceanside Kaupoa Beach features 40 two-unit bungalows fronting Kaupoa Beach on the southwest coast of Molokai.  This lodging area offers guests a slice of paradise with a beautiful double-crescent white sand beach and an abundance of palm trees.  Most activities center around the beach, which is a prime location for swimming, snorkeling and sunning.  

Guests may choose from an array of outdoor adventures while staying at Kaupoa Beach, including ocean kayaking, cultural hikes, mountain biking, beach activities, "city slicker" rodeo, and horseback trail rides.  Or they may simply relax in their bungalow or enjoy one of the numerous hammocks.

Providing an unrivaled view of the ocean, the open-air dining pavilion at Kaupoa Beach serves as a central meeting point for dining as well as activity shuttles.  Guests enjoy buffet meals with offerings such as ahi burgers, made-to-order omelets, fresh fruits, ceasar salads, baked chicken, scampi, prime rib and more prepared by Ranch Chefs.

Activities abound at the Ranch to fulfill every adventurer's dream, young or old including:

• The Outfitters Center - this is where guests check-in for Kaupoa Beach, receiving a briefing on activities, choose their equipment and stock up on provisions.
• Archery - This activity includes instruction, wooden arrows, quiver, take down fiberglass bow, score pads and course map.
• Beach Adventures - Guests enjoy a day of fun in the sun at Kaupoa Beach. Activities include volleyball, snorkeling, walking the shoreline, exploring tidepools and simple sunning.
• Clay Shooting - Test your marksmanship in a shooting game in which clay pigeons are presented to the gunner in ways that mirror the flight patterns of game birds or rabbits in their natural habitats. At each station, clay pigeons are thrown in pairs or single, simulating the movements of actual hunting.
• Cultural Hikes - Guided hiking experiences offer a unique way to appreciate the beauty of the island as well as its cultural heritage. Guides share their knowledge of areas of cultural significance, including adze quarries, ku and hina rocks, and ancient home sites.
• Keiki Adventures - the children's program at Molokai Ranch offers an array of fun activities for keiki (children) ages five and older. Offered both in the mornings and afternoons, the supervised fun features such excursions as bug hunts, beach walks, arts and crafts, and more.
• Mountain Biking - An exhilarating mountain bike adventure awaits guests whether they are advanced or beginners. The advanced morning tour includes a healthy dose of climbing along with challenging terrain. The afternoon- ride is for beginners and features a single track or ranch road descent to Kaupoa Beach. Both rides offer spectacular views and great fun.
• Ocean Kayaking - Guests kayak through gentle waves, accompanied by green sea turtles and other sea life. Kayaking guides tour guests east of the old Kolo Wharf and share the history of loko kuapa or fishponds of Hawaiian yesteryear.
• Paniolo Round-Up - Working paniolo (cowboys) teach guests horsemanship in the Ranch's state-of-the-art rodeo arena. First, guests compete in the traditional rodeo game of match pole bending. Then the games begin as they put their newly acquired skills to use, joining teams for cattle herding, penning and sorting.
• Spa - Indulge your senses and invigorate the soul with a day of pampering at the spa at the Molokai Ranch Lodge. Three types of massage therapies, two styles of facial treatments, lymph node drainage, and aromatherapy are available for those ready for a luxurious necessity.
