MAUI'S ULTIMATE RESORT DESTINATION INCLUDES CAMP GRANDE "THE CHILDREN'S RESORT"

The luxurious 780-room Grand Wailea Resort Hotel & Spa offers the ideal family vacation and then some: a world- renowned resort that provides the finest in dining, accommodations, recreation and a truly stellar spa coupled with Camp Grande, Grand Wailea’s unparalleled children’s facility.

A fully licensed and insured childcare facility, the 20,000 square-foot “Children’s Resort,” provides the utmost in structured activities and also offers extensive facilities for free play time activities for children ages 5-12. 

A typical Camp Grande day begins at 9:00 a.m. when a  parent or guardian drops their child off to embark on a day filled with educational and recreational games, workshops, arts and crafts and sporting events. Structured morning activities may include Sand Sculpting Contests, guided Tide Pooling and Nature Walks along the beach, Hawaiian Games and Music, Relay Races, Scavenger Hunts and much more.

Children break for a delicious and nutritious lunch (which parents are welcome to join in on) and the day continues with free play (but supervised) activities: swimming and water slides for children who meet height requirements, and the Whale Wading Pool for youngsters who can’t yet go into the pool. Camp Grande also offers afternoon movies and computer and video games to name a few activities. Afternoon workshops in Hula, Computer Graphics, Lei Making, Tile Painting, and T-Shirt Dyeing are also available. Camp Grande day sessions wrap up at 4:00 p.m., but the fun doesn’t stop there. Camp Grande also offers Night Camp from 5:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., which includes dinner and a wide range of supervised activities such as Walkie Talkie Tag at Night, Scavenger Hunts, Sand Crab Hunting, Cookie Decorating and Theatre Games. Camp Grande counselors are dedicated to making the camp experience as enjoyable as possible, and typical counselor-to-child ratios for day activities are 8 to 1 and 6 to 1 for nighttime fun.

Some of Grand Wailea’s children’s areas are available for guests who do not participate in the Camp Grande program. The Video Arcade and Escapades Snack Bar are open daily from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. The Whale Wading Pool, Playground and Kiddieland, an indoor playground stocked with toys and games, are open from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Grand Wailea also refers baby-sitting services through the Nanny Connection, available around the clock.

Rates at Camp Grande are $75.00 for a full day, and $85.00 for Night Camp.

The Grand Wailea Resort offers "Fun for the Family of Four" packages starting at $483.00 per night plus tax and based on availibility.
