DISNEY FUN FOR ALL AGES
At Disney, fun is for kids of all ages. Whether
you're a toddler, a teen, an adult, somewhere in between, or all of the
above, you'll find something to tickle your fancy. Disney
offers thrills for all:
Take your toddlers
where magic is real
By Jane Stokes
No one brings fairy tales to life like the Walt
Disney World Resort in Florida – and for parents of toddlers, just
watching the little ones meet their favorite characters and spend the
whole week surrounded by make-believe, is bound to turn the whole Disney
experience into sheer magic for you too.

EXTRA SPECIAL KID ADVENTURES –
Youngsters can explore the fun of the Neverland Club at Disney's
Polnesian Resort, one of several child care centers available to
guests at the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. |
Better still, as parents you can also trust that a
Disney vacation is going to be easy to manage, even with preschoolers.
Throughout Walt Disney World Resort there are more than 66 attractions and
entertainment options just for them, like "Peter Pan's Flight", "Mickey's
PhilharMagic", "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh", "Voyage of the
Little Mermaid", "Dumbo, the Flying Elephant", plus daily parades, live
shows and character meet-and-greets. For extra peace-of-mind here are some
pointers for you and your tots.
Tips For Your Tots
• Arrive at the parks early in the day and then
take a break at your resort hotel for lunch and naps. Return to the theme
parks in the late afternoon when everyone is well rested and ready for
more fun.
• Stay on property for easiest and instant access
to the parks, plus amenities like themed swimming pools and kiddie pools,
character meals, and bedtime stories on in-room TV.
• Baby Services locations provide private rooms
with rocking chairs, low lighting, plus feeding rooms with highchairs and
supplies.
• No need to bring the stroller or crib. In-park
stroller rentals are US$8 a day, plus cribs and guardrails can be reserved
too.
• In-room baby-sitting services or resort-based
childcare programs are ideal options for parents who would like a night
out.
• Character dining – where a cast of characters
visits your table while you eat – is an irreplaceable experience.
Reservations are required.
Teens rate Disney tops for
the white-knuckle thrills
It is generally agreed that a Walt Disney
World vacation is sheer magic for kids, but did you know that a
visit to Disney is also unmistakably "cool" for young teens?
Indeed, Disney is all the rage because in
addition to an eye-popping vacation in the most magical place on
earth, it is also the promise of countless, action-packed,
heart-pounding, pulse-racing adventures designed for teens and
tweens, aged 10 and up, like these:
• Mission: SPACE at Epcot is the most
technologically advanced attraction ever created by Disney, which
imitates an Earth-to-Mars adventure featuring a true-to-life
sensation of launching vertically.
• Rock 'n' Roller Coaster Starring
Aerosmith is an indoor, high-speed thriller at Disney-MGM Studios.
Guests blast off on a rockin' musical journey in 24 passenger cars
configured as stretch limos, with twists, turns and multiple
inversions through movieland.
• The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at
Disney-MGM Studios adds a frightening new twist to this
well-known, scream-machine attraction. Pumped up lighting, special
effects and accelerated speeds plummet guests 13 stories, again
and again, making the Tower of Terror scarier than ever.
• Disney's Test Track at Epcot screeches
through a 150,000-square-foot pavilion with hairpin turns, spirals
and spins, with speeds revving to 65 mph. Riders in test vehicles
zoom into the exclusive world of automobile testing in an
exhilarating mile-long adventure.
• DINOSAUR in Disney's Animal Kingdom theme
park, starts as a peaceful journey but soon turns into a
pulse-racing blast as an all-terrain, time rover whisks travelers
on a turbulent trek back 65 million years to a world filled by
frightening encounters with extraordinary dinosaurs, fiery
asteroids and meteor showers.
Adult fun may appear
where you least expect it
By Jane Stokes
The best family vacations, it's agreed, are those
with equal opportunity. Each and every family member deserves an
individually rejuvenating getaway – and this means that even at the best
of the fun-filled theme parks, there should be ample activities for adults
exclusively.
STORY
IN THE SKY – "Wishes," the biggest, boldest fireworks spectacular ever
staged at the Magic Kingdom, weaves a thrilling "story in the sky"
that blends music and character voices from cherished Disney animated
films, original narration by Jiminy Cricket and dazzling pyrotechnic
effects never seen before in a Disney theme park.

Take the Walt Disney World Resort in Florida, for
example. For kids (and for big kids) there are roller coasters in Magic
Kingdom, hair-raising discovery attractions at Epcot, movie thrill rides
at Disney-MGM Studios, and a lot of wild, wild adventures in the fourth
park, Disney's Animal Kingdom. For adults – couples, singles, and parents
too – hire one of the available babysitters and then there will be this
for you to do:
Golf all day, all week. Disney's five championship
courses add up to 99 holes, much of it crafted by the famed Pete Dye, Tom
Fazio and Joe Lee.
Spa all day at two, full-service spas on the Disney
property – Saratoga Springs and Disney Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
Tennis is tops with 30 of the finest courts in
Central Florida.
Go sports fishing where guests routinely catch bass
weighing two to eight pounds.
Enjoy the culture – the architecture, dining, art
and history exhibits – of 11 countries at Epcot World Showcase.
Plan a night of fine dining at Victoria & Albert's
in Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa.
Club crawl at Downtown Disney Pleasure Island where
nightclubs feature everything from hot rock, to comedy, to country, to
jazz.
Dance the night away at the elegant Atlantic Dance
Hall at Disney's BoardWalk, a whole district of dining, entertainment and
recreation.
Experience Cirque du Soleil, House of Blues, the
Virgin Megastore and lots more nightlife at Downtown Disney West Side.
Stroll quietly through Celebration, a community
with an old-fashioned downtown and where an evening stroll can end at a
cinema or in a cozy restaurant.
