BLUEHOLE ˝ DAY 4X4 and HIKING ADVENTURE
Expert guides will lead you to the heart of Kauai. In an
air-conditioned van you will head inland from Wailua, past Opaekaa Falls
and Sloggett Reservoir to the Keahau Arboretum. From the arboretum, fasten
your
seatbelts
for a bumpy ride further into the heart of Kauai. The trail crosses streams
and winds through the dense forest to the "gate" used in the
Jurassic Park movie. There we park and have an
easy half-hour stroll past wildflowers and gorgeous vistas to the Blue Hole.
Here, at the base of Mt. Waialeale, where the waterfalls converge into a
river, is where water is diverted into the Irrigation system of Lihue
Plantation.
This is a great opportunity to learn about the
history and culture of Hawaii from experienced guides in a
breathtaking natural environment You will be provided with plant
photo books, umbrellas, ponchos and walking sticks, as well as
backpacks, snacks and beverages. The trail is easy, but between
the bumpy roads and about 3 miles of walking, round trip, this
tour is not recommended for people with neck or back problems,
motion sickness or those who are less than moderately fit.
4 - WHEEL DRIVE MOUNTAIN ADVENTURE approx. 7-8
hours
Experience Kauai's remote natural wonders from a
perspective few visitors ever get to see. With expert guides,
explore the unique ecosystem of Kokee and the grandeur of Waimea
Canyon plus the scenic Backroods of a former -sugar plantation,
through a mountain tunnel to the top of the Kilohana Crater.
Travel with a small group, off the beaten path, In an
air-conditioned, 4x4 van.
You will marvel at the beautiful Waimea Canyon,
the lush rain forests of Kokee and the rugged coastline of
Mahaulepu. Enjoy narration from your local guide on Kauai's
history, culture and native plants and birds as you ride and take
a short nature walk.
Listen to birds sing while enjoying a delicious,
deli-style lunch at one of the lovely picnic areas. Clear days
provide spectacular panoramas, while overcast days offer
waterfalls, rainbows and the mystical beauty of the rain forest
and the windswept cliffs of Mahaulepu.

Please bring a jacket and wear comfortable walking shoes. Cameras

SEA FUN KAUAI SHORE SNORKEL approx. 4 hours
Travel in an air-conditioned van to one of
Kauai's many breathtaking beaches. At the beach, you will be
provided with quality snorkel equipment, including a wetsuit. The
tour is led by a Marine Biologist who will brief you on how to
snorkel and what you will be seeing. Snorkel sites are chosen
based on daily ocean conditions and are inside protective reefs.
Beginners will enjoy the instruction and careful
attention in the water, (there is a maximum of six snorkelers per
instructor) while experienced snorkelers appreciate the
orientation to Kauai's unique environment You will see lots of
colorful fish and on most tours, green sea turtles are
encountered.
The tour is being videotaped by the tour leader.
Be sure to stay close so you will get to see Yourself in the video
on the way back. Drinks and snacks are provided. Bring a swimsuit,
towel, sunglasses and sunscreen. Video available. Pick up at most

4- WHEEL DRIVE BACKROADS ADVENTURE
8 A. M. - 12noon or 1 P.M. M. - 5 P. M. Travel former cane roads to areas of
incredible beauty that have been off limits to all but cane
Workers for years. Learn about the history of Kauai as you
meander along the scenic backroads past reservoirs and Fields
that now grow a wide variety of crops, all the way up to
Kilohana Crater. From the top of the crater you will have a
breathtaking 360 degree panorama. This tour is a photographers
dream.
We will take you through Old Koloa Town,
Hawaii's First plantation settlement, past the old mill and to the
rugged coastline of Maha'ulepu. Then, one of the highlights of the
tour, we take the tunnel through the mountain back to the main
road and the plantation home. You will not believe how much you
can see and learn in four hours. Bring lots of film! Guests meet
at Puhi. (Pick up at some hotels can be arranged.)
