Stowe,
Vermont - Summer Activities Rival Winter Season
When people talk
about Stowe, Vermont, great skiing is usually the topic of
conversation and it might come as a surprise to learn that the
Village of Stowe and surrounding area is almost, if not more
popular with tourists in the summer.
The quaint
downtown of the Village is one of the first stops for
visitors. Here shopping and sightseeing is the main
activity. A children's clothing store called the Yellow
Turtle features all kinds of trendy and traditional outfits and
many other stores offer interesting local crafts.
While there are
many places to eat in Stowe, for something different, try the
Swiss Pot with Fondue and Swiss selections on the menu. The Depot Street Malt Shoppe is
a busy place for ice cream and quick lunches.
Recreation is a year round
pursuit in this area of Vermont
and the Recreational Path winds through the village, over and around the West
River. Cycling is BIG here with many rental shops offering a
wide selection of styles and types of bikes for the whole family
to enjoy this activity. In-line skating and walking are
other ways to enjoy the path.
A drive up the mountains gives
families some exciting ways to see and enjoy the view on Mount
Mansfield.

Mansfield's ridgeline and over the summit, offers views of
Stowe's Trail, Smugglers' Notch and beyond.
