INFO TO BE POSTED SHORTLY
Ottawa, March 20, 2003 - The Canadian Tulip
Festival is proud to announce that two of Canada's most recognized family
entertainers will be featured at the Festival this year.
After three years of trying to line him up for
the Festival, Robert Munsch will make his Tulip Festival debut on Saturday, May
10th at 1 p.m. on the CS CO-OP Main Stage.. For over twenty years, Robert Munsch
has been a Canadian treasure. His book "Love You Forever" is the best
selling children's book in Canadian history and also tops the list in the U.S.!
It has sold over 15 million copies! Munsch has published 35 books including
"Paper Bag Princess", "A Promise is a Promise" and other
timeless family favourites.
His amazing tales take on a new life, as he
captivates audiences with his storytelling ability. The Canadian Tulip Festival
audience will howl with laughter and be moved to tears by this giant in Canadian
family literature.
On Saturday, May 17th, two family productions
grace the CS CO-OP Stage. At 11 a.m., television favourite Caillou will make a
return visit to Major's Hill Park to tiptoe through the Tulips. All things new
and wonderful amaze sweet, innocent, playful and curious Caillou, so you know he
will be waiting and ready to check out the beautiful tulips! From his own
backyard to his very first airplane ride, Caillou discovers the wonder and
excitement of being a little boy in a very big world. Treating life as one
adventure at a time, Caillou lets kids know that even if life is not always
easy, with the right kind of attitude even the hard stuff can be accomplished.
This French stage show is produced by Génération Inc.
At 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 17th, Chris McKhool
will take to the stage to inform children and their families about their
environment through a fun-filled, interactive show that features plenty of
amazing, and energizing songs.
