Thomas the Tank Engine(TM) Pulls Into Dearborn, Michigan Aug. 23- Sept. 1
Tickets Go on Sale Monday, March 24
DEARBORN, Mich., All aboard for Thomas the
Tank Engine, when the classic storybook friend steams into Dearborn, Michigan
for Day Out With Thomas. This fun-filled family event, that offers the
opportunity to ride with Thomas the Tank Engine, will engineer miles of smiles
at every scheduled arrival. Everyone's number one engine chugs into
Greenfield Village August 23 through September 1.
Parents, grandparents and siblings join their aspiring engineers in sharing in
the fun of the Day Out With Thomas experience, featuring a variety of Thomas
& Friends(TM) themed entertainment for the entire family. Interactive
children's activities include an opportunity to meet and take pictures with
Thomas the Tank Engine's firm, but kindly boss, Sir Topham Hatt; Thomas &
Friends storytelling and video viewing; Thomas & Friends temporary tattoos
of Island of Sodor friends; live music and an Imagination Station with arts,
crafts and more. Also in Greenfield Village, visitors can take a tour of
the historic 1880s railroad repair facility, the Detroit Toledo & Milwaukee
Roundhouse or help a railroader push and turn our railroad turntable.
Train rides with Thomas the Tank Engine will depart every half-hour, rain or
shine. The first run is at 10 a.m. and the last run is at 5:30 p.m. daily.
This event is expected to sell out, so advance purchase is recommended to ensure
a choice of dates and times. Tickets are $10 for ages one and up.
Non-members will also need to purchase a ticket to Greenfield Village.

Day Out With Thomas(TM) is a family event that offers aspiring engineers and
their grownups the unique opportunity to ride with Thomas the Tank Engine(R) at
their regional heritage railroad. Launching into the United States in 1996
at the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay, Wisconsin, Day Out With Thomas is
now celebrating its eighth year of engineering miles of smiles at every
scheduled arrival. With more than 300 event days on the schedule, Day Out
With Thomas will make 50 stops at 40 heritage railroads nationwide. More
than one million passengers are expected to take a ride with Thomas the Tank
Engine at Day Out With Thomas events this year.
