The new inflight service concept "Lu's World"

Johann Lafer as well as the famous professional
cook Hermann Pflaum, have developed new menus, which
children from all over the world have tested and selected.
Young gourmets on Lufthansa flights will, depending on
the time of day, be able to enjoy a great variety of
delicacies. The "menu" includes e.g.:
For breakfast:
- Mouse-shaped bread rolls
- Pancakes with apple purée
- Quark-sesame-balls with
vanilla and raspberry sauce

-
Salad platter
- Carrot lasagna
- Poultry sausages with potato gratin
- Colorful fried rice
- Chocolate mousse or vanilla pudding
Children menus are available on most Lufthansa
flights. Book the menu together with your flight

Even after mealtimes there is plenty of variety on offer
with drawing books and colored pencils to let the kids get
creative. And recipes by Johann Lafer to cook at home, lots
of new games, Lu shoulder bags and finger puppets, Matchbox
cars and puzzles as well as card games and Memory with Lu

Lufthansa's Extra Service offers reliable child
care for unaccompanied minors (UM) between the ages of 5 and
11, and upon parent's request, also for minors up to the age
of 17. Also see Lufthansa Continues the Tradition of Passenger Care with Special Services for Children.
What do you need to know?
When making reservations, supply name, address
and telephone numbers of persons responsible for dropping off
and picking up your child at the airport.
The air fare for unaccompanied minors between
5 and 11 years is subject to the applicable tariff, plus a
supervision fee of DM 50.- (€ 25,56) per flight direction.
When purchasing the ticket you will receive a
yellow bag, which your child will carry, clearly visible, for
the duration of the journey. This bag will contain all
necessary travel documents (ticket, UM papers,
passport/minor's ID, visa for destination, travel health
insurance, allergy pass etc.).
Standard measurements apply for carry-on
baggage. Security regulations do not permit electronic
equipment such as Gameboys on board.
Special check-in counters for unaccompanied
minors are available at the following airports: Frankfurt
(Terminal A, counter 282-283), Munich (all counters) and
Hamburg (Terminal A).
Who looks after your child?
A female Lufthansa employee will accompany
your child to the aircraft from the check-in counter or the
airport child care facility (Frankfurt and Munich). On board a
flight attendant will look after your child for the duration
of the flight. Additionally, special meals, toys, the board
magazine "Lu" and - on certain flights - a special
in-flight entertainment program will help make your child's
flight a pleasant one. At the destination your child will be
picked up by another Lufthansa employee and delivered to the
designated pick-up person. Unaccompanied minors travel
conveniently and safely with Lufthansa.
